When I was a kid there were many movies that influenced me - one of them was an obscure film titled “Buckaroo Banzai”. As the end credits roll on screen an 80s synth tune plays and the actors walk around Sepulveda Dam. It was great - and I distinctly remember it from my childhood. Many years later I would have the fortune of filming there on the show The Goldbergs which takes place in the eighties. In a way this painting is a symbol of nostalgia and also coming full circle in my current time and place. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did painting it. Also if you haven’t seen the movie you should check it out. It’s amazing.
