Hi, I’m Alex Selkowitz and I’m an oil painter based in sunny Los Angeles, California where I live with my amazing wife Alana and my two wonderful kids, Jameson and Charlotte.

Growing up in Northern California, I developed an early passion for drawing and the arts, which eventually led me to a career in the film industry. Today, I bring that technical foundation in light, composition, and atmosphere into my artwork, drawing inspiration from the golden LA sunlight, smog-tinted sunsets, and quiet nocturnal scenes. I’m drawn to the beauty in ordinary moments and I love giving them a sense of permanence through paint.
